Nokia Lumia 800 is a Windows Phone 7.5 which comes with many upgraded hardware’s which is capable to provide an effective Mobile VoIP experience. So, let’s check out how advantageous can latest Windows 7.5 and upgraded Lumia 800 hardware will enhance our Smartphone usability.
I like to point an important feature that requires making Mobile VoIP calls…
Network:
We all know that Network is basic requirement but the question is what and how many types of networks required.
There are 3 types of network that Lumia 800 supports:
- 2G Network: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
- 3G Network: HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
- WLAN: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
2G networks consists GPRS which is quite slow so you cannot make video calls but voice call is possible.
3G networks are great, bit costly in many countries but works like charm. You can make both voice calls and video calls.
WLAN which also known as WiFi which is better than other network in terms of speed because it provides highest data transfer rates comparing to 2G or 3G networks and most of the time it’s free. If you get WiFi access you can experience fastest internet speed and you can make and effective mobile VoIP calls. But WiFi networks are not available everywhere.
Speaking about video calls, Lumia 800 has greatest disadvantage of not having secondary camera. This drawback will regret all the Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 users.
This phone has 1.4 GHz Scorpion processor which is fastest in Nokia phones. With 16GB inbuilt storage you don’t need to go for additional memory card. This phone runs on latest OS which is ‘Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5 Mango’. The data speed in HSDPA is 14.4 Mbps, HSUPA is 5.76 Mbps.
Well, more or less you can make voice calls through VoIP technology but video calls will be always be in dream on Nokia Lumia 800 users.
